hi all i was looking at a model of Stevensons Rocket and realised the one in the history museum bares no resemblance to the one we all know all know as he continued to modernise and try to improve on his original train so i thought i would do a dio to show the difference between how it was and how it actually is. those eagle eyed amongst you will all notice the faces are not painted, i went to have my eyes tested at the optometrist yesterday and took my glasses off for the test and would you believe it they fell apart the frame snapped and the lens fell out, so this build has been finished wearing one lens and i could not see to paint the faces and it will be a fortnight till i get my new ones.

so whats the verdict what do you think
Ken's the name modeling's the game.

Love it! I know what you mean by the glasses as I sat on mine once but had to drive home without or get a new pair that day! Not easy to do and very expensive. Fantastic Dio KP and look forward to seeing some expressions on their faces soon Cool

Very nice kp,
No need for face detail for the guy under the wheel, I think we can imagine what his expression would beLOL

Was this a box kit originally? Also what scale is this?

They are both Dapol (formerly Airfix) but the black one based on how the rocket is now in the science museum has had some extensive scratch building done to it they are ho\oo scale.

Interesting concept of "past & present" on this Rocket diorama.

Do you operate any HO/OO model trains ?

Hi allsorry for thevlong wait for a reply no I don't have any train sets at the moment did as a kid. And yes the poor chap is William I did use a little artistic license on the dio its not strictly how the accident happened.
