Thanks to everyone who looked in and especially to those who commented, very much appreciate your interest. Not only did they get the measurements all wrong on one of the joints but looks like some of the part numbering is also way out. Together with Italian instructions just means I'm going to have to tread carefully as we move forward....

Onto issue 3 and happy to say no problems with this one. This prepares the next forward keel section and two ribs. Ribs have been glued in place, set at 90 degrees to the keel and the two forward keel sections test fitted together. The biplane will be dealt with much later in the build but can already see one of the propeller blades is broken off, a repair job for later.

Regards

Alan

There is no doubt in my mind that you will sort the issues and come up with a stunning build. Watching with interest to see if by the end of the build you can also speak fluent Italian! lol

Managed to get a little more build work done by getting on with issue 4. Am now firmly convinced I have a numbering problem with parts. Second pic displays the parts in the magazine while pic 3 shows what has actually been received. Parts are numbered 11, 14 and 115 which is not bad considering I've already used a part 11..lol.. Part numbers should actually be 13, 16 and 17...

Ah well, back to the build. Fitted rib 13 including attaching two smaller reinforcing ribs, clamped these in place. Added rib 16 to the forward most slot (numbered 14) followed by the gluing of the two forward most keel sections with a bracing piece (17) glued over the joint, clamped in place.

Finally, dry fitted the port and starboard bracing strips, these strips ensure the ribs are all set in the correct positions and will be glued in place later. Remaining parts stored safely for future use....

Happy building all..

Regards

Alan

Do like the look of this, shame about the fit issue but should be easily rectified. Would have been a different situation had the tab been to small for the hole it fits into.

A tidy start Alan looking forward to the next update.

Thanks everyone for looking in and for the kind comments, always appreciated... Some more progress, continued with issue 5 and this started by altering the ill fitting keel section, gluing in place with a reinforcing plate just to make sure. Then moved onto to adding another keel section to the bow, dry fitted only at this stage.. Ships boat will be left until much later.... Happy building all...

Regards

Alan

Thanks for the comments guys, appreciated... Onto issue 6 with the securing of the keel to the build board ensuring everything lined up correctly. Once happy it was onto to extending the bow section further, this I had to ensure was square on all planes as anything out of alignment here would be very visible later in the build. This is also a weak point in the hull construction so nice to see strengthening bulkheads having to be added.... Happy building all..

Alan

Thanks to everyone who looked in... Issue 7 is very straight forward with the adding of 4 more bulkheads to the bow section. Bow section is still very flimsy and will be strengthened as we progress.... Happy building all...
